A motion filed by the opposition Social Democratic (PSD) and Greater Romania (PRM) parties against the health reform laws, for which the Government assumed responsibility in the Parliament, failed before the joint houses of the Parliament on Tuesday with 246 votes against and 214 in favor.

The Parliament debated and voted on the document called "the Anti-reform of Health", signed by 160 senators and deputies. If the 17 laws package was not challenged at the Constitutional Court within the next five days, the President would have passed the Health laws.

The opposition parties qualified the health reform proposed by the Government as "anti-social" and "anti-European."
