The National Anticorruption Department (DNA) provided a rough start of the week with hearings on two "big fish" cases today. Dana Nastase, ex-PM Adrian Nastase’s wife, and current deputy prime minister George Copos were grilled by prosecutors in two different cases first thing in the morning.

According to TV reports, Dana Nastase answered one hour of questions on her role in the "Zambaccian" affair in which she stands accused of shady real estate transactions along with her husband, Adrian Nastase. She refused to comment the grilling for the media when she left the DNA office.

Deputy PM George Copos answered questions in a case in which he is accused of tax evasion amounting to some ROL 40 billion (USD 1,33 million) along with the National Lottery president Nicolae Cristea. After four hours of grilling, he told the media he submitted documents to prove he was not guilty and that all his firms had paid their duties to the state.
