The week ended smoothly at the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Friday after days of ups and downs that eventually reached a balance point. The day saw its spectacular boosts, large scale transactions and unexpected events, but it was a quiet day overall.

Indices closed with slight falls of about 0.3% despite some impoving trends in the second part of the day. The transacted value stood at about RON 35 million.

Most activities were drawn by the Transylvanian Bank (TLV) with some RON 6 million traded for some 4 million shares, due to a significant transaction in the second half of the session. TLV ended the day at 1.49 RON, up 0.7%.

Another bank, BRD – Groupe Societe Generale (BRD) dropped from the very first minutes to a low of 19.1 RON. It managed a recovery but ended still down at 19.2 RON (-1%).

Transactions ran astray on Rompetrol Rafinare Constanta (RRC) as it was expected after the wave of criminal inquiries on Rompetrol’s top management this week. RRC fell from the very beginning to 0.1080 RON.
