The speaker of the House of Deputies and former Romanian prime minister, Adrian Nastase, presented himself before the National Anticorruption Department (DNA) prosecutors on Thursday to be informed about the accusations he is facing in Zambaccian file.

Nastase was accused on Thursday of allegedly taking bribes.

DNA confirmed that Adrian Nastase had been charged on February 7, without naming the accusations he was incriminated for, but mentioning that other five persons were involved in the same Zambaccian File.

Besides Adrian Nastase, there is Dana Nastase- his wife, the former Transport minister, Miron Mitrea, and an official within the Transport Ministry, Irina Jianu. On Thursday, anti-corruption prosecutors revealed that Romania’s former consul in Hong Kong, Ioan Paun, is also under charge.

There is still one person to be revealed in this case.
