A 57-year old man has died in a Bucharest hospital as a nurse supposed to look after him went to sleep and refused to get up when alerted by other patients when the man, suffering of lung cancer, called for oxygen. The man struggled a whole night watched by other patients before he found his end.
When the St. Luca Hospital nurse eventually came to the ward at 6 a.m., she found the man dead.
The incident took place on July 3 but it is only now that it came to public attention, according to Romanian news channel Realitatea TV.
The hospital management announced an investigation to establish the causes and circumstances of the death.
