The Baneasa Airport just north of Bucharest will be closed for two weeks starting Monday for the completion of works there. Domestic flights due to land on Baneasa will be redirected to the Henri Coanda International Airport in Otopeni, north of Bucharest during the period.

Authorities say that the flow of passengers on the Otopeni airport will increase by 30% until October 12, Antena 3 news channel reports.

The Henri Coanda Airport management says it was ready to take over the flights from Baneasa. But passengers will be affected by continuing works between Bucharest and Otopeni, an area already hit by daily traffic jams.
