Romanian organizers of a gig that Depeche Mode is due to hold in Bucharest this Saturday said they had no information of a cancellation, following reports that DM singer Dave Gahan was hospitalized, prompting the cancellation of a concert in Athens. But sources close to organizers, told HotNews.ro on Wednesday that it was "more than probable" that the Romanian concert will be cancelled.

According to international news agency reports, Gahan was diagnosed with gastroenteritis.

Reports quoted a DM spokesman who said he hoped Gahan would recover soon and would be able to return to stage this weekend, which gave hope to Romanian fans awaiting the Saturday concert in Bucharest.

Andreea Filip, communication manager for Emagic, the company organizing the gig in Romania, told HotNews.ro on Wednesday that as far as they knew the schedule for concerts in Bucharest and Istanbul remains unchanged.

The Bucharest stop is part of a tour promoting Depeche Mode's latest record, Sounds of the Universe.
