Romanian radio station ProFM launched Michael's Way campaign on June 6. The fans are urged to fill in a petition that asks for an alley in Herastrau Park in Romania's capital to be named after the King of pop.

"Michael paid for this great gift he left us: his hits, shows, dance moves... Now is our turn for a gesture that will prove the love and appreciation we have for the King of pop", ProFM team said.

The campaign is organised in partnership with MTV Romania and supported by Nova Music/Sony Music and FanClub Michael Jackson. The petition was signed by almost 1,000 people in its first day.

The ProFM initiative is not unique. Locals from a Ukrainian village requested last month from the local authorities for the village name to be changed to "Jackson".
