Romanian national currency RON fell by 2.3% against the euro on Friday as compared to the previous day, amounting to 3.6102 Romanian RON/euro, an evolution prompted by poor liquidity during the period, Romanian news agency NewsIn reports.

The latest data reported by the Romanian National Bank shows a depreciation of the Romanian RON by 6.75% against the euro as compared to the numbers during the same period last year.

The Romanian National Prognosis Committee estimates for next year an average exchange rate of 3.3 Romanian RON for 1 euro with forecasts saying that the national currency will constantly improve in the coming years up to a rate of 3.1 Romanian RON for 1 euro by 2012-2013.
