The European currency won in front of the Romanian leu up to an exchange rate of 3.6822 RON per euro, the highest level during the past two years. The rate growth directly affects people with credits in Euro and income in RON. Analysts recommend the populace to chose credits in RON. Imported goods will also see a price rise, but exporters and companies paying salaries in Euro will benefit the most from the stronger US dollar and Euro. Analyst Ilie Serbanescu declared for the public radio station that the entire economy may benefit from the exchange rate modification, since it leads to decreasing the current account deficit, lower inflation and encourages interior production.
