The income for Xerox Romania and Moldova increased 22% in 2007, up to over 61 million dollars, in the context of a good evolution of the document management services and printer sales. The company aims at maintaining the growth pace in 2008, according to Xerox Romania manager Marius Persinaru.

"The service area is the most important. Ten years ago, no one believed that we can convince a company to outsource its business processes, but things have changed now", said Persinaru, who explained how outsourcing leads to expenses decrease.

On the other hand, the income grew 45% at office equipment sales at Xerox Romania, mainly for color printers and multifunctional devices. "We stopped building basic copy machines quite a while ago, but people still believe we do", said Persinaru. "The color technology is increasingly accessible, the cost of a color page is closer and closer to the cost of a black and white page. The prices will become similar, but not earlier than 3 or 4 years", Persinaru estimates.

According to the IDC data, Xerox holds some 75% of the digital color printers market, as number of sold units.
