Microsoft Romania officially announces that Silviu Hotaran will withdraw as General Manager of the company by the end of August. The selection of a new manager is undergoing and includes both internal and external candidates, an official press release of the company informs. Hotaran will set up his own consultancy company.

Silviu Hotaran declared that his mission at Microsoft ended but he will keep in touch with most of the people there, as he is determined to open up a consultancy firm in the field. Hotaran joined Microsoft as General Manager for Romania in 1996 when the local branch opened. In 2004, he was named General Manager for South East Europe and was responsible for Microsoft's development in the region.
