Romania delivers 56% less new households than the European average with 2.1 new units per 1,000 citizens while in Italy and Spain the value amounts to 15 per 1,000 citizens, a report by real estate developer Impact SA informs, quoted by Romanian news agency NewsIn.

Impact manager Oana Trifu says that Romania needs to deliver some 100,000 houses for 75 years in a row to reach the European average. By 2011, Impact will invest 160 million euro to build four residential projects.

According to the study, the average household space per capita in Romania is 44% lower than the European one. Unlike Romania, where the average household space is 20 sq. meters per capita, in Hungary it can even reach 28 sq. meters per capita while in Denmark, 52.4 sq. meters per capita.
