Low Romanian salaries attract a lot of foreign investments but this has to change, Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu declared in an interview for the German publication Suddeutsche Zeitung , AFP quotes. He added that salaries would not remain low for long and insisted that foreign investors who take only this factor into consideration are mistaken.

Recently, Dacia employees launched a complex general strike which ended with a 28% salary increase but the movement expanded to other companies in the region.

Romania's net average salary grew in the last months but it still does not exceed 330 euro.

The biggest telephone producer in the world, Nokia announced last year the relocation of a factory from Bochum, Germany to Romania, which generated an intense wave of protests from both politicians and citizens.
