While the Romanian automobile sales has grown by 20 to 40% each year for several years now, for 2008 experts have modest estimations. The market might increase by 5% at most or might even stagnate. The evolution is not surprising as the market not only does not fall but normalizes and aligns its evolution to other European countries. After the first four months of the year, the Romanian automobile market grew by 14% according to available statistics.

Experts argue that Romania has exceeded the evolution of other Central European countries in terms of cars sold per number of citizens. Representatives of small brands which started to grow significantly estimate that the market will grow by 10% only.

The Romanian market is growing continuously since 2000 and it is very dynamic. Thus, this year's prognosis shows that the market stabilizes, Car Makers Association president Constantin Stroe declared for HotNews.ro.
