Daimler AG representatives discuss with Romanian authorities the possibility that Mercedes open a factory in Timis, Reuters informs, quoting official representatives. Mercedes will take a final decision in two or three weeks, Timis County Council vice-president Marius Popovici declared.
Popovici added that Mercedes representatives talked with several governmental officials about the possibility to build a factory in Timis, West Romania. At his turn, Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche declared this month that a final decision will be taken this quarter.
Trade minister Ovidiu Silaghi declared that Daimler seems to have chosen Timis as possible location for its factory. Mercedes representatives investigated various regions in the country and it seems that they will decide to locate the factory at Timis.
