The design for the next generation of Dacia cars will be decided after a contest between the design centers Renault has everywhere in the world, Renault Technologie Roumanie general manager Philippe Prevel declared for HotNews.ro. The competition is necessary, Prevel explained, because the Dacia cars are sold in some countries under the Renault brand as well, therefore the design must be adapted so that it would meet the taste of as many client as possible.

The decision on who wins a design competition is taken by a group of Renault board members, such as Renault -Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn or industrial design chief Patrick le Quement.

Renault opened at the end of May its Central European design center in Bucharest, the sixth such center within the group. The mission of the new center is to work for both Logan models and other new cars about to be launched by the group.

Renault Technologie Roumanie is Renault's regional engineering center, currently employing 2,000 people, and an estimated number of employees of 3,000 at the end of 2009.

The Romanian engineering center designed the back part of the Logan pick-up model and the cooling system for Sandero and the pick-up.
