Romania's annual inflation rate entered a moderate stage, reaching a stable 8.02% level, in accordance with analysts' expectations due to cheaper services that compensate for the expensive food products, Romania's National Statistics Institute data reveals, quoted by NewsIn.

In July, the annual inflation rate reached a peak level of 9.04% after in June it was 8.61%. Questioned, analysts estimated that in August the inflation rate will range between 7.9 and 8.44%. As compared to the previous month, consumption prices dropped by 0.09% while non food products' prices stagnated as compared to July. However, food prices increased by 0.2% according to the data.

In August, energy, heating and natural gas prices stagnated while fuel prices dropped by 0.77%. Moreover, some services dropped in August due to the appreciation of the national currency.
