Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu declared on Tuesday that banks need to take prudent policy decisions in order to protect the economic stability of the country. He underlined that Romania has no problems with the banking system. He criticized former Education minister Ecaterina Andronescu for declaring her support for the 50% teachers' wages increase.

PM Tariceanu urged all economists to evaluate the impact of the crisis over the European economy and that Romania might not be developing at the same pace as before. Moreover, he added that it was possible that exports would slow down but that would be it.

Moreover, when talking about his decision to replace Education minister Adomnitei, Tariceanu said that it was his duty to take part in the commission's debates and find out how the deputies are going to vote.
