The Tokyo market lost 9.6% on Friday, falling under the psychological threshold of 8,000 points ad reaching its lowest level in the past 5 years.

On the other markets, the same lack of certitude led to more losses on the stock markets: Hong Kong lost 4.66%, Seoul - 10.6%, Singapore - 4.82%, Kuala Lumpur - 2.36%, Sydney - 2.95% and Manila - 2.13%.

Meanwhile, officials from 13 Asian states decided to put up a fund of 80 billion US Dollars, in order to protect the region against the financial crisis. South Korea, China, Japan and the ten ASEAN states agreed on the solution after a meeting in Beijing on Friday.
