The Competition Council opened an investigation regarding the possible cooperation of players on the banking services providers and the interbank market, a practice forbidden by the Competition Law, a press release of the institution informs.

The investigation refers to a possible data exchange, as well as some commercial behavior unveiled by the media, said one Council official.

Competition counselor Josef Nandor Nemeny said that the main targets of the investigation are ING, Royal Bank of Scotland (former ABN Amro), Bancpost and UniCredit
