Romania’s annual inflation registered 6.8%, and exceeded twice the average of the European Union. Romania is ranked fifth in a EU top annual inflation rates, NewsIn informs, quoting Eurostat. In the European Union, the annual inflation moderated significantly in November up to 2.8% from 3.7 % in the previous month.

As compared to November 2007 the annual inflation within the European Union moderated. The highest annual inflation rate was registered in Latvia (11.6%), Lithuania (9.2%), Bulgaria 8.8% and Estonia 8.5%. The lowest rates were registered in Germany and Portugal, of only 1.4% followed by France with 1.9%.
