The Romanian Central Bank published on Friday a reference exchange rate of 4.2910 RON per Euro, representing a 0.5% appreciation, compared to the rate on Thursday, of 4.3127 RON per Euro. Dealers say it is possible that this is the effect of a Central Bank intervention on the market.

The RON lost against the US Dollar, from 3.3130 to 3.3496 RON per dollar, and also against the Swiss Franc and the Japanese Yen.
