Romania's economy grew by 7.1% in 2008 with an advance of 2.9%in Q4

Romania's economy advanced by 2.9% in the last quarter of 2008 that lead to a moderate economic growth of 7.1% for 2008, Romania's National Statistics Institute data shows. After the first nine months of the year, Romania's GDP registered a 8.9% advance compared to the same period in 2007.

In the last three months of 2008, the value of the GDP was 159.43 billion lei, while the 2008 GDP overall value was estimated at 503.95 billion lei. Last year's growth was significantly determined by the increase of the activity volumes and the added value from the agriculture and constructions.
