Companies with a business figure under 12,000 Euros per year will have to pay a lump tax of 500 Euros, Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea declared on Thursday, adding that companies that can't pay this tax have no justification to exist.

"If you can't afford to pay 500 Euros per year to the state per year, you better shut down your business! We have no resources to pay for investments and we can't take other economic measures if companies do not pay their taxes", said Pogea.

The lump tax project is applied gradually, according to the annual income of companies. The law draft will be discussed by the government next week.
