Renault announced that it will build its new 1.6 liter diesel engine in the Cleon factory, in France, instead of the Pitesti factory, in Romania, or in Spain, AFP informs. Producing the engine in France will preserve 450 jobs in France. Renault, which recently received a 3 billion Euros aid, announced that it will not shut any assembly factory in France during the following years.

The factory in Cleon will produce some 200,000 engines per year. The project received subsidies and incentives from the community and local authorities.
