The collapse of Romania's governing coalition of Democratic Liberals (PDL) and Social Democrats (PSD) with the withdrawal of the PSD ministers on Thursday does not have an immediate impact on country ratings, the Standard&Poor's agency announced on Friday. That is because the government has so far implemented a program agreed with the IMF successfully, according to Romanian news agency Mediafax.

Should the current situation lead to a political impasse which would prevent the government from fulfilling its fiscal program and the financial situation worsens, the agency may downgrade Romania's rating.
