Romania's commercial deficit decreased by 61.4% in the first nine months of the year, to 6.93 billion euro from 17.97 billion euro in the same period last year, Romania's National Statistics Institute date reveals. The decrease of the commercial deficit was due to a drop of imports to the exports.

In the mentioned period, exports dropped by 18.3% up to 21.18 billion euro and imports decreased by 36% to 28.11 billion euro. In September, the commercial deficit was 1.05 billion euro and registered a 58.5% decrease compared to the value registered in the same month, last year.
