Romania will register a modest economic increase in the first quarter of the this year, as exports recover, Cristian Popa, Vice Deputy of the Romanian National Central Bank declared. He said that in services and constructions, estimates are still negative.

Prompted whether the economy will increase in the first quarter, the official said that Bank representatives expect a positive, yet modest figure. He added that for 2010 a positive evolution is expected but it is hard to estimate how much it will increase.
