Romania's commercial deficit decreased in the first five months of the year by almost 3.2% to 3.8 billion euro from 3.92 billion euro in the same period in 2009, Romania's National Statistics Institute reveals. The decrease was a direct consequence of an increase in exports in the detriment of imports.

In the mentioned period, exports increased by 24.8%, to 13.81 billion euro and imports advanced by 17.5% to 17.62 billion euro.
