The banking system registered losses after the first five months of the year, of almost 49 million euro even though it ended the first quarter with a consistent profit, Romania's National Central Bank data reveals, quoted by the Romanian news agency Mediafax. After the first five months of the year, banks accumulated a profit of 100 million euro.
Centralized data revealed that in end of May, the Romanian banking system registered a loss of almost 49 million euro just like it happened in May last year.
