Finance minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu considers the possibility to reduce the flat tax next year. He told HotNews.ro that the ministry has several options but a decision will be taken with the IMF delegation. The IMF delegation is expected in October for new evaluations. A decision to extend the agreement or sign a new one is expected to be taken at that time. About the new agreement, Ialomitianu declared that there was no decision taken so far.

A lower flat tax could be one of the measures to relaunch the economy but only in several conditions, PM's counsellor Andreea Paul Vass declared recently. According to her, a lower flat tax would generate lower budgetary revenues which is necessary to supplement revenues in other areas.
