Romanian Democratic Liberal PM Emil Boc said on Friday he didn't know anything about an initiative of a Democratic Liberal (PDL) MP to introduce a tax on weddings and christening ceremonies. PDL deputy Gheorghe Ciobanu announced on Thursday he proposed the taxation of such ceremonies and other events such as school parties, claiming that tax evasion in the field was "fantastic".
Ciobanu, a member of the budget, finance and banking commission of the Romanian Parliament, said he made the proposal to fiscal authority ANAF president Sorin Blejnar.
Ciobanu claimed the FInance Ministry was working on a method to control such ceremonies indirectly.
