Romania registered in March the biggest annual inflation rate in the EU, with a price increase of 8% compared to the same month in 2010, Eurostat data shows. The inflation rate increased compared to the last month when the indicator was 7.6%.

Romania is followed by Estonia (5.1%), Bulgaria and Hungary (each with 4.6%) while Ireland registered 1.2%, Sweden 1.4% and Czech Republic 1.9%. At the level of the EU, inflation rate was 3.1%, an increase from the 2.9% registered in February and in the euro zone inflation advanced from 2.4% to 2.7%.
