Vestal local council from the US state of New York rejected on December 9 a businessman's proposal to construct a hotel for Romanian tourists, according to Fox40wicz.com. The proposal was rejected with four votes against and one in favour.

The construction of the hotel was planned on Route 434, next to the Manley Auto Centre.

The proposal was made by a businessman, who claimed that the hotel would have lodged Romanian tourists stopping in Vestal, before heading north.

A Vestal local, John Norton, said that he did not see the point of construction a new hotel. The Blue Dolphin Hotel lays half-way between New York and Niagara Falls and is never entirely occupied.

Vestal local Council reps claimed that the hotel would have been built on the town's residential area, while some of the plan’s critics stated that the hotel would have attracted "undesirables".
