With an often "mellow" and predictable tennis, Victor lost in three sets, score 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. Federer met a convenient opponent and qualified in the third tour.
"Victor is a difficult player, but he's much more used to the slag. He was often beyond the field and this allowed me to strike decisively", Roger Federer declared after the match.
