If Parliamentary elections would take place next Sunday, Democrats (PD) will receive 40% of the votes, closely followed by the Social Democrats (PSD) with 18% and governing Liberals with only 13%, Hungarian Democrats (UDMR) 7% and Liberal Democrats (now merged with Democrats), 6%m according to a new study by Romanian pollster INSOMAR.

On the other side of the spectrum, parties like the New Generation Party (PNG) or the New Initiative Party would fail to meet the 5% necessary threshold for the Parliament.

The survey shows that Romanians most trust their current President, Traian Basescu and the vice-president of the Democrat Liberals (PDL, the result of the merger between PD and PLD), Theodor Stolojan closely followed by PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu.
