A draft uninominal voting system reached the Romanian House of Deputies on Tuesday after long debates between governing parties and the NGOs. However, most political parties announced that they will vote the version of the law and thus no heated debates are to be expected.

Thus, the future elections will be organized in the single runoff in single member districts. The Chamber has decision power on this bill.

One question mark still endured by Tuesday morning, namely whether Social Democrats (PSD) would still submit an amendment to the law, regarding the way local council members in counties are elected. However, the Electoral Code Commission has already rejected the amendment.
