Romanian Liberal PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu demanded the resignation of the head of the Liberal Party branch in Bucharest, Ludovic Orban, due to the weak result he obtained in this year's local June elections, in which Orban ran for Bucharest mayor. Tariceanu also demanded the resignation of several heads of Liberal local branches who obtained less than 15% in these elections.

However, Ludovic Orban declared that he would not take responsibility for the votes obtained by the Liberal Party. He added that both opponents and analysts considered his program efficient and the public perception of his campaign counted just as much.
