Deputies and Senators chosen on November 30 swear in on Friday and choose their speakers. PSD Mircea Geoana is the favorite for the Presidency of the Senate, according to the PSD PDL agreement while the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies will be under the political influence of the Democrat Liberals. PDL member Roberta Anastase received on Friday morning 58 votes for and 41 against to occupy the seat.

Besides Roberta Anastase, who will most probably be the president of the Chamber of Deputies Permanent Office, PDL will also have a vice president and the other 2 vice presidents will be nominated from the Social Democratic camp. Liberals will also have a vicepresident, Romanian news agency informs.

Liberals already announced that former Chamber of Deputy Speaker, Liberal Bogdan Olteanu will be nominated for the Liberal vice president seat.

For the Senate, things seem to be clearer: leaders of the PSD PDL coalition decided that Mircea Geoana will not be part of the executive but he will be appointed Speaker of the Senate.
