The head of Transparency International Romania, Victor Alistar, is said to be favorite for the seat of Justice minister during prolonged talks on the nomination for this portfolio between the two groups forming Romania's new government, the Social Democrats (PSD) and Democratic Liberals (PD-:L), political sources told HotNews.ro on Friday. According to the same sources, an alternative would be incumbent Justice minister, Catalin Predoiu.

PD-L and PSD have already chosen the members of the new government, with the exception of the Justice Ministry about whom the two parties only agreed he should be an independent.

Representatives of the two parties were continuing negotiations on the Justice portfolio on Friday afternoon.
