Democrat Liberal deputy Mircia Giugiu submitted in the House of Deputies on Tuesday a bill for the creation of Mother's and Father's Days, in order to create a social equilibrium that would highlight the importance of both parents at the level of the family at at the societal one.

Father's Day would be celebrated in the first Sunday of May while Mother's Day, in the second Sunday of the same month. The government, local and central public authorities will have to take necessary measures to mark this event, the project reads.

The rationale of the proposal is that these new official celebrations are a natural gesture in the Romanian society, as a result of the collaboration of T.A.T.A Association and those Romanian parliamentarians interested in family issues.
