European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Thomas Mirow will arrive in Bucharest for a short visit to confirm the bank's long term commitment for Romania in the current environment, a press release of the institution reads. The European official arrives from Sofia, where he had an official visit with the same purpose.

Mirow will meet with representatives of the government and businesses. EBRD plans to increase investments in Romania: last year investments exceeded 300 million euro. The main priorities of this year are to support the real economy by financing banks and insure funds for energy investments, the press release reads.

EBRD invested some 3.8 billion euro in Romania for 249 projects and attracted 7.2 billion euro from foreign sources
