The series of arrests in the past weeks, which already led to the detaining of two billionaires and several intelligence and Police officers, may continue with the arrest of some journalists, warned the president of the Bucharest branch of the Social Democrat Party, Marian Vanghelie.
In a TV intervention on Sunday, Vanghelie claimed that president Traian Basescu was behind the arrests made lately, "since he's willing to use any means to win a new presidential mandate, regardless of the consequences". Vanghelie didn't offer any names, but said that the journalists that will be arrested are in some way connected to the recent events.
