Bulgarian minister of Agriculture Miroslav Naidenov announced that he supports Romanian candidacy for the European Commissionaire for Agriculture and Rural Development, Novinite.com informs. The Bulgarian's official statement comes in a moment when PD-L and PSD could not agree neither on the portfolio Romania is pursuing, nor the candidate. Dacian Ciolos, Vasile Puscas and Adrian Severin are ones rumoured to be preferred.

"We're interested that the Agricultural commissionaire portfolio to be awarded our neighbouring country, because we have similar problems in this sector", the authorities in Sofia stated.

PSD and PD-L did not manage to agree on the portfolio Romania was pursuing. The name of the candidate for the role is also not clear, but names such as Dacian Ciolos, Vasile Puscas and Adrian Severin have been suggested.

The newest name to make it on the list of candidates for the European Commissionaire role is Cristian Diaconescu. Some political sources say he would be good for the Expansion portfolio.

The current holder of the role is Mariann Fischer Boel, ex-Agricultural minister in the Copenhagen cabinet
