The Political class "harms Romania", and it is "the biggest obstacle in the path of modernisation", incumbent Romanian president Traian Basescu declared in an interview for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Deutsche Welle informs.
"The Romanian political class represents the biggest obstacle in the path to modernising Romania. It is because of the Parliament's refusal to adapt to the Romanian reality that I organise the referendum for", Romania's presidents add in the interview already mentioned.
"I don't wish to get a second presidential mandate in a country that rejects modernisation. If I hadn't had any aim, I would not have to be present at the elections. What for? For the office car of for honours? No", Traian Basescu noted.
