Social Democratic Party Congress will be organized at Romexpo, the National Executive Committee decided on Monday with 28 votes for, eight against and 10 abstains. The location of the Congress became a battle subject between Mircea Geoana and Adrian Nastase, the two favorites to take over the supreme function in the party.

Mircea Geoana preferred Romexpo, an events hall which would allow one of his supporters, Marian Vanghelie to organize it while Nastase's camp rejected the idea and proposed the Parliament's House.

Other topics on the agenda today are modifications to the party's statute.
