Romania like Russia and China is a country where most phishing attacks start towards eBay online auctions and in many Romanian cities, many individuals make a living of the money stolen from the online platform, an eBay official has declared, quoted by Silicon.com.
The eBay UK Security Manager says that in countries like Romania, people are not afraid of the sanctions applied for online frauds. eBay introduced last year a campaign against limiting online frauds in Romania which lead to the arrest of hundreds of individuals.
Lee mentioned that phishing is the main threat for eBay clients and that his company managed to reduce attacks by offering advices to their customers on how to manage their personal information and deal with the security measures in the new browsing services offered.
