Two days after the administrative elections in Italy, Romanians count their bad results in the poll. In Rome, Ramona Badescu obtained 54 votes while Gabriel Ionut Rusu received 766 votes and was classed 8th on his list of 60 town counselors, while Gabriela Violeta Vidussoni received only 19 votes in Viterbo.

Hotnews.ro closely followed the counting of the votes for eight Romanian candidates who ran for counselors in various town halls across Italy on April 16. However, none of the Romanian candidates obtained the necessary number of votes to win a seat. Gabriel Rusu in Rome received the highest number of votes but he will not enter the City Hall.

Romanian candidates in Italy told HotNews.ro that Romanians did not come to vote, even though they claim that their interests are not respected. Florica Lupasteanu, in Ivrea near Torino said that most of her votes came from Italians.

In Rome, Ramona Badescu, an actress of Romanian origin, received some dozens of votes but Gabriel Rusu exceeded all expectations. Unfortunately, HotNews.ro was not able to contact the two candidates.
