French journalists harshly criticized their French President Nicholas Sarkozy as he celebrated one year since he came to power. Journalists talk about lies and failures of the President who thought that his winning is enough to settle all controversies in the country, France Presse reads.

Le Monde reads that if Sarkozy does to not use his last term years to repair the damages created, he could be the one to deepen the steep differences between the electorate and their leaders. The publication adds that Sarkozy criticized his predecessors but until now, he did not show signs of being different.

France Presse reads that most columnists admit that the French President is just at the start of the term and that he can still prove his skills but journalists are rather pessimistic about a change.
